Relief and Rehabilitation

Every year, the people of Madhubani district face the devastating impact of floods, losing their homes, farmlands, and livelihoods. In these moments of crisis, Rural Development Trust (RDT) steps in as a beacon of hope, extending immediate relief and long-term rehabilitation support to affected families.

When disaster strikes, RDT’s team swiftly collects data on flood victims, identifying the worst-hit communities and assessing their urgent needs. Families who have lost everything receive essential relief supplies, including food, clean drinking water, clothes, and temporary shelter. For those who require further assistance, RDT also supports rehabilitation efforts, helping people rebuild their homes and restart their lives.

But recovery does not end with shelter. The loss of livelihoods is often the hardest challenge for flood victims, as small farmers, laborers, and daily wage earners struggle to regain stability. To address this, RDT provides basic financial relief funds, enabling affected families to resume income-generating activities. Whether it is providing agricultural inputs, small business support, or skill development opportunities, RDT ensures that families are not left behind in their journey toward recovery.

Beyond flood relief, RDT has played a crucial role in fire disaster relief, offering emergency aid to those who have lost homes and belongings to sudden blazes. The organization also responded to the COVID-19 crisis, distributing medical kits, PPE, and food supplies to vulnerable households. During the holy month of Ramadan, RDT, with support from GPSVS, local contributors, and the Jamaila Tailoring Training Centre, provides food kits to struggling families, ensuring that no one goes hungry during times of need.

Through these humanitarian efforts, RDT continues to uplift disaster-affected families, restoring dignity, resilience, and hope for a better tomorrow.
